  3. Exhibition Jenneke Slot

At the library, there is currently an exhibition showcasing paintings and other works by Jenneke Slot. Jenneke works at our university's Windesheim Events department, where she and her colleagues ensure that open days, conferences, graduation ceremonies, and other events run perfectly.

"As long as I can remember, I have been painting and drawing," says Jenneke. Over the years, she has journeyed through various styles: from figurative, expressive, abstract to her current, more serene style. "I often work with my own photos that form an inspiration for my paintings. Sometimes the photo serves purely as an example, but I also sometimes incorporate them into my paintings."

Nature, especially the beach and the sea, are a great source of inspiration for Jenneke.

In the last two years, she has started painting on wooden blocks. "The texture of the blocks gives an extra dimension and softness to the work." She also paints on notebooks, which she often gives away as a personal gift.

"I prefer not to give my works a name. The moment something has a name, it is looked at in a certain way. So don't be distracted by the title next to the work, but interpret it in your own way and give it a name for yourself."

Jenneke would love to hear your reaction to her work via j.slot@windesheim.nl(opens in new tab).
